Tottenham’s next five fixtures compared to Arsenal, Man United and Newcastle in top four race

Tottenham news: A few huge fixtures are coming for Spurs in the next few weeks following their superb victory against Manchester City

Harry Kane celebrates becoming the club’s leading goalscorer with Emerson Royal and Dejan Kulusevski during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City

Tottenham secured a memorable victory against Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday with Harry Kane scoring the only goal of the game that set a new record in north London. The 29-year-old levelled Jimmy Greaves’ goalscoring tally of 266 with his goal in the win over Fulham and he was able to set a new record 15 minutes into their clash with City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

With Christian Stellini in the dugout, following boss Antonio Conte undergoing surgery in the week and recovering in Italy, Spurs started the brighter and were able take advantage of a City mistake to go in front.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg raced in front of Rico Lewis to intercept a pass and after taking the ball closer to goal, he picked out Kane in the penalty area and he finished clinically. That goal, which was his 16th in the Premier League this season, saw him surpass Greaves’ 266 goals for Spurs and further establish himself as a club legend.

The three points took Spurs one point closer to the Champions League qualification places after fourth-placed Newcastle dropped points against West Ham on Saturday. Following their memorable triumph in N17, football.london takes a look at Spurs’ next five fixtures compared to their main rivals this season.

Leicester City (A) – Saturday February 11

Following that is a trip to the Midlands to face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The Foxes have struggled so far this campaign, sitting 14th but just one point off the bottom three as part of an intense and dramatic relegation battle that has played out so far.

AC Milan (A) – Tuesday February 14

The Champions League returns in mid-February as Spurs join the round of 16 with a trip to Italy against giants AC Milan in the first leg. The Rossoneri finished second in their group, having lost twice to Chelsea, and the Scudetto holders sit fourth in Serie A after a far from ideal season at this stage.

West Ham (H) – Sunday February 19

A London derby is on the cards in late February as Tottenham host West Ham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Hammers have struggled to recapture their form from last season that saw them pushing the top of the table and in a Europa League semi-final, currently sitting 16th.

Chelsea (H) – Sunday February 26

It’s not just one London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in late February but there’s two as Chelsea make the short trip for the second rival clash of a double header. The Blues have looked a shell of the side they once were, finding themselves mid-table amid a rebuild.

Derby day clashes are far from form based though, with the previous battle ending with a late draw for Spurs in a fiery clash.

Wrexham/Sheffield United (A) – Wednesday March 1

Spurs’ Premier League campaign will once again be placed on hold at the start of March for a mid-week FA Cup fifth round trip. The opponents are yet to be decided, with the reply between National League side Wrexham and Sheffield United taking place on Tuesday evening.

Conte will be hoping to replicate the recent success at Preston and avoid a replay with a congested run of fixtures facing them in March – which includes four games before the international break.
