Declan Rice, a standout for West Ham and England, could be signed by Manchester United before Arsenal, and the player’s asking price is decreasing, according to former Hammers striker Frank McAvennie.

The 24-year-old has consistently excelled for both club and country, ranking among the finest midfielders in the Premier League over the past few seasons.

The 24-year-old has consistently excelled for both club and country, ranking among the finest midfielders in the Premier League over the past few seasons.

But with West Ham underperforming this year and a summer exit maybe on the cards, there is a sense that Rice has outgrown the club. Rice, who has been dubbed “sensational” this month by football writer Eduardo Hagn, is nearing the conclusion of his current deal, which has a club option to extend for another year.

Many teams have been interested in signing the midfielder, including United, as Erik ten Hag tries to strengthen his team.

The Red Devils will compete with Chelsea and Arsenal for Rice, according to reports from last week.

In response, McAvennie told Football Insider that Rice would be a wonderful match for the Red Devils, but he questioned whether the England star would relocate to north London:

“I believe he would be fantastic. He has a big head to join the revolution at Manchester United. He could not want to move to Arsenal, I don’t know.

He has to find work because his income is declining every year. He is not hitting with the same form that he previously used. You are likely to drop between £20 and £30m. Over £100m was being discussed, but it is now only £70m.

He will relocate at the conclusion of the current campaign, 100%. It is now occurring. If he travels abroad, I wouldn’t be surprised, but he’ll be joining a sizable club. He is a young man who enjoys a challenge.

Rice is a fantastic football player with a bright future, according to William Gallas who believes the England international “can become world-class” and Jack Wilshere who believes the London Stadium favorite is already the finest in the world at his position.

As his contract expires, there has been speculation of a dropping price, with The Telegraph naming £70m as the amount after Moyes estimated last year that it would cost more over £100m.

While Casemiro is now excelling in the No. 6 position at United, he is not a long-term deal and will turn 31 this year, whereas the West Ham player would be.

At the 2022 World Cup, he averaged 94.3% pass completion percentage and made 2.2 interceptions per game. He may even become the captain of the United and England teams in the future.
