Why Bruno Fernandes often plays at right wing for Man United — explained

Bruno Fernandes is known for being a creative playmaker but lately, Erik ten Hag has used him on the right wing.

As per The Athletic, Ten Hag does that in situations where United 'want to pin back an aggressive opponent'.

"Old weaknesses remain in this United — particularly in how they progress the ball through the thirds — but Ten Hag often provides inventive short-term solutions to long-standing problems.

"When Fernandes moves to the right, United often pack attackers centrally and wait for his passing threat from wide."

The Red Devils use Bruno's creativity to carve out greater opportunities down the right side, which used to be a weak area before.
