5 redundant players in the Man Utd squad: No training, no playing still receive £75,000 a week ~ Football vows

Despite the facт that he has not trained or played for Manchester United in the past six months due to an injury, Phil Jones continues to be paid the equivalent of $75,000 per week.

Axel Tuanzebe is currently in his seventh season playing for the first squad at Man Utd, although the future ʀᴇᴍᴀɪɴs unclear. Tuanzebe’s “study abroad” trip to Italy was supposed to be a watershed moment in his development, but the reality was far different from what Man Utd had anticipated.

The most perplexing aspect of Manchester United’s roster is Phil Jones. The midfielder only appeared in 13 games for Old Trafford in 1992, yet he continued to be employed there despite the passage of four seasons. The contradiction is that Jones is getting paid £ 75,000 per week, which is over half of what the other players on the Man Utd squad get paid, but he hardly ever practices or plays. Jones’ sorrow was brought on primarily by his injury.

The length of time left on Jones’ contract at Man Utd is all the way through June of 2024. Because of his compensation, Man Utd is unable to sell Jones. The former Blackburn Rovers player did not voluntarily end his contract at Old Trafford, either. Gary Neville was critical of Jones because he was “trying to eat sticky rice,” meaning that Jones was keen to remain at Man Utd in order to earn a big wage rather than actively quitting up and trying to find a better suited landing.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the team’s head coach, decided to promote Brandon Williams to the first team beginning in the second half of the 2019/20 campaign. Williams was given this opportunity. At that precise moment, Williams immediately came into his own, assisting Man Utd in momentarily resolving the issue that had arisen in the left-back position. But as time went on, Williams fell more and further behind. Williams was rendered ᴜᴛᴛᴇʀʟʏ unable to function with the departure of coach Solskjaer from Man Utd.

After spending the previous year on loan at Norwich, Williams made his way back to Manchester United this summer. After Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, he is the third player on the depth chart for the left back position on the Man Utd team. Williams is positioned on the right side of the court, behind Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Williams is being sold by “Red Devils” for approximately 10 million British pounds.

Despite working with Erik ten Hag’s instructors and students, Donny van de Beek is still struggling to find his place in the Man Utd squad. The Dutch international has only appeared in four matches so far in this year’s Premier League, with three of those appearances coming off the bench. The Manchester Evening News reports that Manchester United would like to offload Van de Beek during the transfer window between the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Van van Beek’s career will suffer as a result of his decision to enroll at Man Utd. He was not selected to compete for the Netherlands in the World Cup in 2022. At this time, no major team other than Ajax has expressed interest in signing Van de Beek. It is highly possible that the midfielder from 1997 will come back to Ajax in order to restart his career there.

Despite having joined Man Utd in the summer of 2020, Facundo Pellistri has not yet participated in any games. In spite of this, he was still selected to play for Uruguay, and he was even given a starting position in the World Cup in 2022.

Pellistri was recruited to play for Manchester United at Old Trafford by coach Solskjaer on Diego Forlan’s advice. This midfielder is quick, has solid technique, but his body is fragile, and he lacks strong physical attributes. Pellistri doesn’t get many chances to start for Manchester United because he’s buried in the depth chart behind Antony, Marcus Rashford, Sancho, and Anthony Elanga.
