Man Utd reported seriously interested in ‘new Van Persie’ in January
After returning to Carrington this week to work for his coaching badges with his Dutch countryman Erik ten Hag, Manchester

United may help Erik ten Hag’s rebuild by giving him a new Robin van Persie. This comes after the Old Trafford legend spent the week at Carrington. Following the expiration of Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract in November, the Red Devils are in need of a new striker, and an alluring prospect has recently presented itself.
In the midst of instability within the hierarchy of the Serie A giants and a financial crisis made worse by the club’s elimination from the group stage of the Champions League, Dusan Vlahovic’s future at Juventus has become increasingly uncertain. And as rumors of a switch in January continue to gain momentum, United has emerged as a potential destination that could actually happen.

It has been reported by Corriere dello Sport that Manchester United intends to make a significant effort to sign Vlahovic during the
transfer window that will be open in January. The 22-year-old striker has been linked with moves to some of Europe’s most illustrious clubs, including Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Since completing a deal to Juventus from Fiorentina for a fee of 62 million pounds in January, Vlahovic has played a total of 36 games for the club and contributed 16 goals and four assists. This season in Serie A, he played ten games and scored six goals before suffering an injury that forced him to miss the final few matches before the break for the World Cup.
Van Persie’s recent comeback to the club can serve as motivation for United in the month of January, while Ten Hag can add to United’s goal-scoring possibilities with his own left-footed wizardry. The legendary player who wore number 20 led Manchester United to their most recent championship in his first season with the club, the 2012–2013 season, when he recorded 26 goals and 15 assists in 31 Premier League games.
Van Persie finished his career as the all-time best goalscorer for the Netherlands with a total of 58 goals scored in 105 games played. United are anxious to bring in an attacker of the same ilk in order to enhance their lackluster figures during the first few months of Ten Hag’s stay in M16.
Marcus Rashford has scored the most goals for Manchester United so far this season with eight, but Anthony Martial is close behind with four goals in seven games played.
Antony has scored three goals, the same number as Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho, but he hasn’t hit the back of the net since he scored in his first three Premier League outings.
Martial’s continuous injury problems make it impossible for Ten Hag to rely on him, whereas Rashford is better suited to operating in the left channel of the field.
In the new year, he will be scanning the market for a striker in an effort to prevent having a disastrous first season as the head coach, and Vlahovic may have emerged as a primary candidate for the position.
Man Utd alerted to ‘next Paul Scholes’ but Erik ten Hag may need transfer miracle
Jude Bellingham, according to former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson, reminds him of Paul Scholes of Manchester United. Erik ten Hag, the manager of the Red Devils, may find it challenging to sign the talented midfield master because of intense competition that could completely exclude United from the running.
Under renowned manager Sir Alex Ferguson, Scholes was a mainstay of the United starting XI, earning 11 Premier League titles and establishing himself as one of the best midfielders of his period.
Every boss’ top objective is to identify someone who has the potential to match his accomplishments, and Eriksson thinks Bellingham has the potential to develop into a player of Scholes’ caliber. The former Three Lions, Lazio, and Manchester City manager said the following to OLBG: “Jude Bellingham exudes the greatest confidence and appears to be completely unnerved.
“He is a graceful player who can drift away with the ball and dribble in tight spaces. Bellingham is a city I adore.
“Bellingham’s ability to dribble, pass, and score goals makes me think of Paul Scholes. Although they are not precisely the same player, I would compare him to Paul Scholes rather than Frank Lampard or Steven Gerrard if I had to choose.”
Although being linked to a United icon should convince Ten Hag to spend big on the Borussia Dortmund prospect, the outcome of his transfer effort may ultimately be beyond his control.
