Cameroon drew against Panama in their final friendly match for the 2022 World Cup

The friendly between Cameroon and Panama at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi ended in a draw. At the end of the full time, both teams scored one goal each. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored for Cameroon while Michael Amir Murillo scored for Panama. Cameroon, who are preparing for the World Cup, entered the friendly match against Panama by including all the leading players in the starting eleven.

Players like Andre Onana, Toko Ekambi, Vincent Aboubakar, and Bryan Mbeumo all played in the starting eleven for Cameroon, while Anibal Godoy, Adalberto Carrasquilla, Michael Amir Murillo and others all made it to Panamá’s starting eleven. Both the teams failed to score in the first half of the match and the first half ended in a goalless draw. But early in the second half, second-half substitute Choupo-Moting scored.

As the Bayern Munich striker gave Cameroon the lead in the 48th minute of the match, the match became more exciting. In the 55th minute of the game, Panama found the equalizer through defender Michael Amir Murillo. Later, with neither team able to score, the match was tied 1-1 at the final whistle. Not being able to win the friendly match before the World Cup left Cameroon disappointed.

Cameroon are in Group G along with Switzerland, Brazil and Serbia. Cameroon’s first World Cup match is against Switzerland on November 24. Cameroon will then face Serbia on November 28 and Brazil on December 3. Cameroon is coming to the Qatar World Cup with great expectations with the best players playing in European clubs.
