UNITED FACE BURNELY NEXT IN THE CARABAO CUP 4TH ROUND

After beating Aston Villa 4-2 at Old Trafford, the Reds will meet Burnley in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

It was the perfect response from Erik Ten Hag’s side after losing 3-1 to Villa last weekend in the league.

Goals from Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay ultimately helped secure a safe passage into the next round for United, after the visitors twice led.

Up next for the Reds is a home game with Burnley, who are managed by former Manchester City favourite Vincent Kompany and are currently top of the Championship.

Ex-Reds Peter Schmeichel and Dion Dublin conducted the draw at Old Trafford and selected Manchester City and Liverpool together.

The fourth round will take place the week commencing 19 December, following the conclusion of the World Cup, and will mark our return to domestic action.

Exact fixture details will be confirmed in due course.

United last lifted the trophy in 2017, the fifth time we got our hands on this particular piece of silverware.

THE FOURTH ROUND DRAW

Wolves v Gillingham
Southampton v Lincoln City
Blackburn Rovers v Nottingham Forest
Newcastle United v Bournemouth
Manchester City v Liverpool
UNITED v Burnley
MK Dons v Leicester City
Charlton v Brighton
