Man City take on Liverpool in Carabao Cup fourth round with Man Utd in action against Burnley

Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp will lock horns again just days after the World Cup final in the tie of the round.

Manchester United meanwhile will host Vincent Kompany’s Burnley with Leicester City heading to MK Dons.

Southampton and Wolves have home ties against Gillingham and Lincoln respectively while Eddie Howe will take on his former side Bournemouth when Newcastle host the Cherries.

Erik ten Hag’s side booked their place in the fourth round after a 4-2 win over Aston Villa on Thursday night.

Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay were on the score sheet after Villa took the lead through Ollie Watkins. Liverpool meanwhile edged past Derby County after a penalty shoot-out at Anfield.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham United and Everton are among the sides who crashed out of the competition at the third round stage this week.

Premier League leaders Arsenal fell to a 3-1 defeat at home to Brighton with Danny Welbeck on target against his former side.

Despite the presence of Harry Kane in the starting XI, Tottenham’s campaign ended on Wednesday with a 2-0 defeat away to Nottingham Forest with Jesse Lingard scoring and providing the assist for the other.

Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Man City ended their campaign while West Ham were eliminated after a 10-9 defeat on penalties to Blackburn Rovers.
