Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend, bidding to continue our recent rich run of form, as we host West Ham United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday (16:15 GMT).

Entering into the clash following our 3-0 success over Sheriff Tiraspol on Thursday evening, Erik ten Hag’s side will be hoping to build on positive steps having only suffered one defeat during our busy October schedule.

Erik ten Hag was boosted by the recent return of both Harry Maguire and Donny van de Beek against Sheriff on Thursday, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka was absent, despite also returning to the Carrington pitches last week.

French forward Anthony Martial remains on the sidelines, with the attacker still suffering from the back injury that he picked up away to Everton at the start of the month.

In his press conference before the Sheriff match, Erik confirmed that Raphael Varane is out until the World Cup, following his recent setback against Chelsea last week.

For the visitors, summer signings Lucas Paqueta and Maxwell Cornet are both injured and not available for this one. Also nursing knocks are centre-back Craig Dawson and winger Jarrod Bowen. Moyes confirmed this week that both Dawson and Bowen will be assessed ahead of Sunday’s clash, and could be involved at Old Trafford.

Having suffered just one defeat during the month of October, United are in scintillating form of late and will look to carry that momentum into Sunday’s match at the Theatre of Dreams.

Ten Hag’s men have lost just one of our last nine Premier League encounters and will be looking to climb into the top four, should results go our way this weekend.

Our current top scorer, Marcus Rashford, added a sixth goal to his season’s tally with a header against Sheriff, while Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first Old Trafford goal of the campaign on Thursday night.

Despite an indifferent start to the campaign, West Ham have found their feet in recent weeks, and come into this one with only one defeat in their last eight fixtures in all competitions. On Thursday, the Hammers recorded a 1-0 win away to Silkeborg in the Europa Conference League, and defeated Bournemouth 2-0 in their last domestic outing, on Monday night.
