Italy Legend Paolo Maldini Names The 3 Greatest Players He Has Ever Seen, Snubs Cristiano Ronaldo

Italian legend Paolo Maldini has named the 3 best players he has ever seen including Lionel Messi. However, the AC Milan legend snubbed Manchester United and Real Madrid legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, despite facing the Portuguese twice.

“The three greatest players I saw in my career were Messi, Maradona and him [Ronaldo Nazario],” Paolo Maldini has said in the fresh documentary about Ronaldo Nazario, O Fenomeno.

The AC Milan legend has actually ignored Cristiano Ronaldo here. He faced the Portuguese twice in the 2004/05 season – Milan won both times, so maybe Maldini wasn’t really impressed with the 20-year-old at the time!

Leo Messi, in turn, hadn’t ever played against Paolo Maldini. When a reporter once remarked that the Argentine was ‘lucky’ not to do it, Maldini replied: “No, no, I was lucky. Thank god he was injured.”

Interesting choice by Maldini.
