Diogo Dalot hopeful of new deal as ex-Man United striker outlines key Marcus Rashford change
Diogo Dalot hopeful of new Manchester United contract
Diogo Dalot is hopeful of receiving a new contract offer from Manchester United amid ongoing interest from clubs across Europe.
Right-back Dalot has started the season superbly, lining up in all eight of United’s matches and scoring twice on international duty for Portugal in their 4-0 victory over the Czech Republic last week. The 23-year-old continues to generate interest from Europe’s elite, with Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Roma monitoring Dalot’s form.
Dalot has technically entered the last year of his contract but United have a one-year extension they are expected to trigger before the end of the January transfer window.
Milan signed Dalot on a season-long transfer two years ago when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was United manager and wanted to re-sign the Portuguese, while Borussia Dortmund also enquired. Atletico contacted United about Dalot earlier this year.
Man United hero spots key change in Rashford under ten Hag
Manchester United favourite Andy Cole has outlined the key change Marcus Rashford has made to recapture his best form under Erik ten Hag this season. The 24-year-old struggled, like many others, Old Trafford last term.
Rashford only netted four Premier League goals as United slumped to a sixth-place finish. However, he has nearly matched that tally already this season with three strikes in six appearances, not to mention two assists.
Despite that return, England overlooked the Wythenshawe-born forward when Gareth Southgate named his latest Nations League squad. But could that omission help United moving forward with their own targets this campaign?
